Vision Statement

DenkWerkstatt St. Lambrecht*, literally ThinkingWorkshop, is a platform for discussions about the contribution of institutions towards old-age provision for people and its development.

*St. Lambrecht is a village in Styria/Austria with a Benedictine Abbey that has hosted the DenkWerkstatt since 2008.

Mission Statement

The “Gesellschaft für Zukunftssicherung und Altersvorsorge – DenkWerkstatt St. Lambrecht”, i.e. the society for securing the future and old-age provision, wants to create platforms for discussions about the (further) development of the contribution of institutions towards the old-age provision for people – and its facilitation. In a qualified discourse between experts, academia and people with practical knowledge, aspects on and approaches to financial as well as non-financial old-age provision are to be discussed  in depth. These discussion can also serve a blueprints for institutions for further developments. One focus is put on presenting and discussing findings, research, results, services, financing concepts in the field of financial and medica-social old-age and car provision - as well as developing them further.

The St. Lambrecht formats of DenkWerkstatt (first held in St. Lambrecht/Styria in 2008), DenkForum (in Vienna) and DenkRäume (in Vienna, hybrid/virtual) want to create platforms, rooms for presentations, well-founded and open discussions. They are to provide a platform for experts on certain topics as well as general experts from all relevant disciplines, for calls for qualified opinions and advice as well as spontaneous interactions. The topics are ranging from aspects of financial and non-financal provision as well as old-age security to the answer of institutions and service providers on questions of social development and psycho-social change, financial security, care as well as physical and mental health.

Guiding Principle

Denkwerkstatt St. Lambrecht values professionality, quality, (systematic, academic) soundness, interdisciplinarity, open and unbiased discussion of different (hypo)thesis, approaches, views.

Outline of the three main formats

DenkWerkstatt | DenkForum | DenkRäume

The three main St. Lambrecht formats are DenkWerkstatt (taking place since 2008 at the spiritual source of the DenkWerkstatt in St. Lambrecht/Styria), DenkForum (in Vienna) and DenkRäume (in Vienna, hybrid/virtual).

DenkWerkstatt in St. Lambrecht (in autumn)

For three days in autumn, DenkWerkstatt creates spaces for meetings, discussions and interactions in the Benedictine Abbey St. Lambrecht in Styria. Participants are executives, senior experts, rising stars and high potentials from academia, industry, social and economic politics, high-ranking representatives at the systemic level (management and development), open and critical analysts as well as creators. The aim is to develop, improve and publicise concepts, models and systems for the financial and non-financial security of people in old age.

Networking is taking place as part of the conference as well as during evening events, in the corridors of the Abbey, during the breaks and during shared-meals . This is where senior executives, senior experts, rising stars and high potentials get together and network.

DenkForum in Vienna (in spring)

DenkForum in Vienna provides a focussed view on various aspects of one topic. DenkForum will provide space for a more international view regarding speakers, panellists, delegates and topics.

DenkRäume in Vienna and virtual (throughout the year)

DenkRäume are physical or virtual spaces opened during an afternoon in which a topic is discussed by one or more speakers hosted by a active moderator. Additional input for the DenkRäume team comes from the society’s advisory board (for content and strategic decisions), the president as well as the board members. The integration of DenkRäume speakers  into the other formats and vice versa is set to ensure the overlapping discourse and the exchange of ideas.
